Karen Wisdom I was the kid who failed the Babysitting Course but was the busiest babysitter in the neighbourhood.   I was good with kids, I played with them and they loved having me take care of them. It taught me that just because a person does not pass the test doesn’t mean they missed the lessons.

Now I have three beautiful children who have taught me more about life and myself than any book.  I used to think that parents were the teachers and the child the student. Now I believe it is more like the tides that go back and forth on the sand.  Parents if they are open to it can learn as much from their children as their children learn from them.

I am a big believer in Parenting Courses and have taken the “Step Parenting” Course four times. I highly recommend taking at least one Parenting Course. I learned something new each time I took one, the instructor was always very helpful. I have a shelf full of parenting books but will admit that I have never once read one of them in its entirety.  I use them instead, as a reference for when I am dealing with a particular issue with my children and can not come up with any more ideas on my own.

My wish is to share what I have learned with other parents, to give parents a place where they can share experiences and ideas and to help ease their path through some of what I have learned and methods I have tried

I wish all who visit this site the very best in their parenting endeavors and hope the wisdom shared here helps them on their path. If we knew the challenges we would face would we have taken on the task? I believe we would, as parents we also know the incredible joy and love that our children have to give and it makes it all worthwhile. So please join me, share ideas, ask questions and explore. We are on a journey with our children and it will be unforgetable.
